1) Carbon offsetting: The road to becoming carbon neutral by 2026
GroupNexus have made a commitment to reduce our CO2 emissions, and offset emissions in areas where it is not possible for them to be completely reduced.
With the aim of becoming carbon neutral by the fifth year of the plan, 2026.
In year 1, we have successfully offset 253 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
We are currently working ahead of plan.
Thurrock Retail Park became our first FM site to go fully electric and move away from the use of any fuel operated equipment.
We’re committed to providing a greener service when it comes to cleaning, and we’ve been replacing fossil fuel equipment with electric cleaning equipment where possible. We’re delighted to have supplied Thurrock with a fully electric system.
We plan to replace and upgrade the equipment on all our sites in due course.
3) Zero Landfill Uniform Recycling Scheme
We are proud to have set-up a new uniform recycle scheme which will allow us to recycle ALL old uniforms including items with logos and safety boots/shoes.
This is a great initiative and will stop any of our used/old uniforms ending up in landfill – with all old uniforms recycled and used for other manufacturing purposes.
The Recycling process is fully auditable and certified.
